Prefabrik Yapı A.Ş. Takes Part in the Sustainable Brands 2017 Istanbul Conference for the Fourth Time…
Prefabrik Yapı A.Ş., a Hekim Holding company, participated as a Bronze Sponsor in this year’s conference, which brought together leaders of sustainable brands.
The Istanbul edition of Sustainable Brands, regarded as one of the world’s leading conference series, took place at Swissotel The Bosphorus on 20–21 April. Held under the theme “ACTIVATING PURPOSE”, Sustainable Brands 2017 Istanbul explored a wide range of topics, including managing and supporting social impact, corporate culture in innovation, and sustainable business models.
On the second day of the conference, Mustafa Tolunay, General Manager of Prefabrik Yapı A.Ş., took part in a discussion entitled “Pushing the Boundaries Through Purpose-Driven Innovation”, moderated by journalist and author Demet Cengiz. Tolunay explained that, with their Steelin Light Gauge Steel Building Systems brand, they were no longer limited to buildings of 3–4 storeys and were creating comfort through innovation by constructing light gauge steel structures of up to 8 storeys.
Continuing his remarks, Tolunay shared examples from around the world illustrating the sustainability of prefabricated buildings. He noted that these buildings are widely used in countries at the forefront of technology and economic development, such as Germany, France and the USA, and explained that sustainable products can always be produced with the right materials and techniques, enabling the construction of sustainable cities.
Finally, addressing internal corporate strategies for managing social impact, Tolunay said: “If you do not create impact through innovation, your competitiveness declines day by day. Innovation keeps your organisation, your stakeholders and the sector constantly dynamic. With this understanding, innovation is also essential to being a sustainable brand in the construction sector.”
